Breeding Techniques of Green Sichuan Pepper

The breeding technology of Sichuan pepper has a significant impact on the high-yield management of Sichuan pepper, and directly determines its yield and quality. Therefore, the breeding technology of Sichuan pepper is very important. In the process of selecting Sichuan peppercorns, if we consider from the perspective of the mother leaves, the pepper trees should grow healthily and the terrain should face the sunlight. Choose the appropriate harvesting period, which is generally the time when the fruit turns from green to red, from the end of August to the beginning of September.

The specific seed collection measures are as follows: after the Sichuan pepper fruit is ripe, use scissors to cut off the Sichuan pepper ear, and at the same time, place it in a cool and dry place as soon as possible to make it dry and achieve the goal of complete seed removal. In general, the location for green and white pepper seedling cultivation is a gentle slope, which should have the characteristics of smooth drainage, flat terrain, and fertile soil. At the same time, the pH value of the gentle slope should be within the range of 6-7.5. In addition, the removal of debris and the application of base fertilizer in the green and white pepper seedling cultivation site should be implemented properly. When sowing green and white peppers, it is recommended to plant them from October to November as much as possible.

Key Techniques for High Yield Cultivation and Management of Sichuan Pepper

2.1 Planting time

Generally, people choose to plant Sichuan peppercorns in spring and autumn. If you choose to plant Sichuan peppercorns in spring, you should plant them when the seedlings' buds have just shown signs of growth; If choosing autumn, it is best to plant in October.

2.2 Seedling raising

If you want to officially start the seedling raising work of Sichuan peppercorns, you need to implement the watering work in the nursery in the first 5 days. After the soil in the nursery dries up, the seedling raising work can be officially carried out. The seedlings should be raised in the direction of the seedling box, and the number of damaged roots should be strictly controlled to avoid root damage to the greatest extent possible. For the main roots of seedlings, they should be kept at 20-25 centimeters. During the seedling picking process, the seedlings should be strictly graded and tied into different bundles, with the number of each bundle controlled at 50-100 plants. Finally, the packaging work should be completed.

2.3 Planting density

The determination of planting density should be based on the combination of terrain, soil, and planning. If the soil quality of the planting land is good, planting should be carried out at a planting density of 110-120 plants/acre. If the quality of the planting land is poor, planting should be carried out at a density of 160-170 plants/acre.

2.4 Planting methods

In the process of planting Sichuan peppercorns, it is generally necessary to excavate planting pits with a depth of 60-70 centimeters and a diameter of 50-60 centimeters. Before planting, the damaged roots of the seedlings should be cleaned up. At the bottom of the planting pit, the deep soil mixed with farmyard manure should be backfilled. At the top of the planting pit, the surface soil should be backfilled, and the roots should be spread out. The planting depth should be strictly controlled, generally based on the standard that the roots and stems of the seedlings are slightly higher than the ground. After the planting of Sichuan peppercorns is completed, an appropriate amount of water should be poured into the tree tray. After the water seeps dry, the soil should be used reasonably, and the sealing work of the tree tray should be implemented properly to avoid cracks and minimize water evaporation.

Fertilization management techniques for 3 green Sichuan peppercorns

3.1 Fertilization time

Fertilization of Sichuan peppercorns should be maintained 4-5 times a year. Cultivators should pay attention to the timing and frequency of fertilization for Yang Yang fertilizer, Moon Mother fertilizer, Flower and Sprout Promoting fertilizer, and Fruit Strengthening fertilizer. Huanyang fertilizer, also known as sprouting fertilizer, usually starts fertilizing 10-15 days before the fruit is officially harvested. It is applied by mixing with clear manure water for irrigation or spreading, ensuring the overall effectiveness of fertilization; For monthly parent fertilizer, August to October is usually selected as the fertilization time, and fertilization should be completed before and after rainfall as far as possible, mainly including organic fertilizer, compound fertilizer and Youbing (Deep-fried round and flat dough-cake) (decomposed); Flower and sprout fertilizer is generally applied from early January to early February; Zhuangguo fertilizer is usually applied in early April, mainly by adding phosphorus fertilizer, potassium fertilizer, etc.

3.2 Fertilization methods

The circular fertilization method, spreading method, and root fertilization method are all fertilization methods for Sichuan pepper. Circular fertilization method, which involves excavating a circular ditch around the trunk of Sichuan pepper, avoiding damage to its roots during the excavation process. The depth of the ditch is controlled according to a standard of 20 centimeters, and the width of the ditch is controlled according to a standard of 20-50 centimeters. At the same time, fertilization work is carried out while maintaining the smoothness of the soil surface; Spraying method is to use the effect of rainfall to spread fertilizer near the roots of Sichuan pepper, and cover the shallow roots of Sichuan pepper with a small amount of soil; Fertilization outside the roots, i.e. foliar fertilization, sprayed on the leaves of Sichuan pepper according to a certain proportion; Strip fertilization method, implement excavation work in the rows of green and white pepper trees, and do a good job of fertilization at the same time.
